Memorial Day Party Plans

Evite is such a practical timesaver, and Mama-to-Be uses it a lot. So does everyone else. As a result, I now miss getting invitations in the mail. When I was growing up, I remember the fun of getting an invitation to a friend's birthday in the mail. Getting mail in your name is always a treat for kids. It makes them feel important and special. And since there's a little kid in every adult, I think that- for a truly festive party- nothing beats a snail mail invitation.

If you have a smaller house, you'll find spring and summer the best time to entertain friends since you can hold the party outdoors and won't feel cramped. I'm planning a casual party for my neighbors and friends to celebrate Memorial Day.

FineStationary offers a great selection of pretty summer invites. I selected the FineStationary.com Fiesta Invite. It has a fun, trendy vibe.

I'm going to serve a traditional barbeque dinner- burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad, the works. Since everyone loves ice cream, I decided to do build-your-own sundaes for dessert. I bought the Tupperware Tasty Sundae Set- $30. It is handy for setting out the toppings, and it comes with a free ice cream scoop. Since it comes with an airtight lid, any leftover toppings will stay fresh long after the party.
