I just drool over pictures of celebrity nurseries in magazines. But I am not willing to spend thousands on nursery decor. I’ll gladly invest money in safety items, healthy food and anything essential. But let’s face facts: nursery decor is for mommies rather than babies. Babies don’t know the difference between designer sheets vs. something from Target or Sears.
I’ve written previously about how to get a retro nursery look for less. There are other ways to give your nursery an upscale look without busting your budget. Just as nice shoes, sunglasses or a purse can dress up an Old Navy dress, high quality accessories can up the style quotient for an entire room.
In particular, I adore the personalized nursery wall art from KooKoo Bear Kids. The “Wanted Poster” (pictured above) is hand painted and signed by the artist. It’s a great piece for a western or cowboy-theme nursery. I also like the “Personalized Airplane Painting” (pictured at right) for an airplane-theme nursery. It’s $115, but you’ll use it for years since this is a design would appeal to a little boy as well as a baby.
For little girls, I like the “Pink and Chocolate Monogram” (pictured at left). This design is so sweet, and it could have a special place in your girl’s room as she grows. I can even see this design appealing to pre-teen and teen girls. This would fit a french or toile-themed nursery as well as a traditional ballerina, fairy or princess nursery.
Perhaps I read too many fairy tales as a child, but I also really like the “Personalized Fairy Fun Painting” (pictured at right). The cartoon is so whimsical and cheery. It makes me smile. Both hand-painted designs are $98.
All designs are available at KooKoo Bear Kids. When you visit, check out their cute baby ballerina outfits as well.
