I wish I had the time, patience, and skill to sew an inventive and sweet costume for my little baby girl. Perhaps once she heads off to kindergarten (all the mother’s of school-aged children try not to snarf their morning coffee)… In the meantime, I am shopping around for her costume for this Halloween. I’ve always been a big fan of this celebration and I hope to pass on the spirit to my little ghoul girl.
We’re cat lovers and last year Baby Diva was PURRRfection in this Leopard Cape Baby Costume (pictured above).
We went with the cape because we were still in Texas and the weather had not yet cooled off. If you need a little more warmth, though, you could go for this cozier Baby Leopard Costume or this snazzy diva-worthy Toddler Leopard Girl Costume. For a sweeter look, you have this leopard costume dress. I’m tempted to repeat the theme with a Princess Paradise Baby Cat Infant Costume (pictured, right), but I think it may be time for a fresh look. |
An option that is trendy, yet still timeless is the classic pirate outfit. With the popularity of Pirates of the Caribbean, you won’t have any trouble finding costumes for a baby buccaneer this year, including this Toddler Pirate Princess Costume (shown), this Petite Pirate, or the High Seas Buccaneer Toddler. |
She could follow in her mom’s footsteps and be Princess Leia. We’re talking original Star Wars when I was a tot. None of this Jar-Jar Binks stuff. Cute, but I was a year older and had enough hair to pull off the double buns with my own locks when I wore this costume at age two. |
Maybe I should go with another of my all-time favorite costumes from Halloweens past–Wonder Woman. By the time the movie comes out, Baby Diva could play the lead. She’s already a baby superhero. Also available here: Toddler Wonder Woman Costume. And here’s an option for an even younger Amazon: Wonder Woman Halloween Costume for Baby and Toddler. |
We could make some storybook magic with a Fairy costume. My Irish roots may be showing a bit with this pick, but I’ve always loved stories of these wee ones–and my baby would make a darling fairy. Aqua Blue Fairy Toddler Costume or Flower Fairy Toddler. |
However, I usually prefer spicy to sweet on Halloween. So how about a witch? There are plenty of frighteningly cute witch costumes available for little magic makers–she’ll put a spell on you! Check out this Striped Witch Toddler Costume, Toddler Spider Witch Costume, or Story Book Witch Toddler. |
We could leave the fantasies behind and go for an aspirational costume. Baby Diva could be the first doctor in the family. She’s certainly had an opportunity to see medical professionals at work and she would have the opportunity to save little heart patients and other young ones in need of care. Maybe she should wear this Future Doctor Toddler Costume. (also available here ) |
But maybe she’ll follow in one of her great-grandfather’s footsteps and be a musician. This divalicious Future Rock Star Girl Costume would suit her perfectly. |
