Zambi may just be an animatronic elephant, but he’s one charismatic ambassador for an important cause.
Project Zambi is devoted to raising awareness and funds for children who are orphans of the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Hasbro donates fifty percent of the net profits –a minimum of $500,00– from sales of Zambi the Baby Elephant, a special edition Furreal Friends, to the Project Zambi Fund, part of the Hasbro Children’s Fund.
And celebrities are more than happy to share the stage with Zambi. Denzel Washington, Heidi Klum, Hugh Jackman and dozens of others have autographed custom-designed Zambi elephants, on auction for charity on eBay, now through October 15. Own a piece of George Clooney. And it is tax-deductible. And it helps AIDS orphans. What are you waiting for?
Proceeds benefit Family Health International. FHI takes a holistic, community-based approach to healing the wounds of this devastating epidemic. Find out how funds distributed to Family Health International are making a difference by providing basic needs for some of the 12 million African children orphaned by AIDS.
