I bought most of my clothing for BlogHer at Marshalls and it is always one of my first stop for Holiday gifts for the adults on my list.
When Marshalls asked me if I would check out their back-to-school selection for my daughter, I drove right over to see what deals we could find.
I knew we would find tons of cute clothes for her first day outfits. And there were plenty of finds for clothing, shoes, and underwear and socks. I thought this $13 denim skirt was adorable:
I never really thought of Marshalls for back-to-school shopping beyond clothing before but I was really surprised by a lot of the great selections.
If you have a college-aged kid, I would recommend Marshalls for dorm room decor. There were amazing discounts on designer bedding and accessories and even furniture.
I’ve shopped at Marshalls before for home accents for my own house and think that most college-aged students would be able to find a good start to decorating their space at Marshalls.
When I was in college I bought a smelly second-hand couch (which I covered in a batik from a local store owned by an ex-hippie) and the rest of my items were standard-issue box-store decor dressed up with a few accents from indie stores and artists when I could find the cash. The fun imports and discounted designer wares at Marshalls would have been much more to my taste and not any more expensive.
There were also backpacks galore for good prices. I loved that some of the backpacks even came with matching school supplies, simplifying my back-to-school shopping, starting at $15!
I knew Marshalls carried books and stationery but was surprised to find some office supplies in chic designs perfect for preteens and teenagers.
These desk organizers, staplers, and scissors will get plenty of use for school projects and crafts. Am I the only one who used to love shopping for school supplies as a teenager? I just loved all the pens and highlighters, notebooks and folders. Now they come in so many gorgeous patterns and designs! I think the paisleys and animal prints are so stylish!
Although it isn’t strictly speaking a “back-to-school” item, my daughter loves the selection of tutus at Marshalls. Well, I think a back-to-dance-class new tutu is definitely do-able at Marshall’s prices ($5-10).
And check out the cute backpacks for preschool through elementary kids next to the sweet little tutus.
Some of the other great finds for pre-teens, teens, and college students included laptop sleeves and work bags.
It was time to check out and we bought a tutu, two back-to-school outfits for my daughter, and a pair of fall shoes for under $50, plus I bought work bag for me and a few cute toys for my toddler son, on sale for under $5.
You probably won’t be able to check off every item on your supply list at Marshalls but you can definitely find the perfect backpack, a few stylish supplies, plenty of chic dorm room decor, and lots of fashionable clothing and stretch your back-to-school dollar.
Disclosure: Marshalls sent me a $50 Gift Card to go back-to-school shopping. I shop regularly at Marshalls on my own dime and was happy to share some of the back-to-school deals I found. All opinions are my own and I’d never send you to shop some place I don’t go for my own family!
