To say my kids like “Yo Gabba Gabba” is an understatement. They LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba, and admittedly so do I. How could I not? The show’s catchy tunes had my daughter singing “Peas & Dat Chu” (please and thank you) at one! Now, my daughter is 2 and she still never forgets to say please and thank you- ever. Of course, I usually steal total credit… but honestly, it was Yo Gabba Gabba that made that simple lesson I was teaching her- fun!
This past weekend my family and I had the honor of attending the Yo Gabba Gabba “Party In My City” show at Radio City Music Hall as well as a pre-show veggies and milk party (ahhh, finally a party that’s not full of sugar!) on behalf of Mamanista, and courtesy of MSG Entertainment.
Our seats were in the second mezzanine of Radio City, which gave the kids the perfect view of the show. From the minute the show started the kids were dancing by their seats, waving their little glow sticks high in the air, singing along to the songs they love and tossing around the dozens of balloons that were released into the crowd (yes, even in the mezz!).
While at the Veggies And Milk Party, a few of us Moms were speculating- would it be “the real” DJ Lance? (because in many of our houses- he has become quite the celebrity)… and it was! But DJ Lance wasn’t the only celebrity performing, Biz Markee made a cameo for “Biz’s beat of the day” and special guest Drea Dematteo was there to teach the kids her peanut butter and jelly “dancey dancey”.
My 5 year old loved the show so much- he is still talking about it- and even brought in his Yo Gabba Gabba glow stick into school today for show and tell… and that is how you know that this show rocks!
