Rainy, sleety, snowy days got you stuck inside? Plan Toys has a new table top soccer (foosball) game that’s fun for ages 3 and up.
We’ve been having a lot of fun with this game, which I think would also be a hit with teens and adults, too.
You are probably already familiar with the rules of the game: try to move the ball into your opponent’s goal by turning the handles to rotate the dowels and move the “men”.
Of course, like all other playthings from Plan Toys, the foosball table is manufactured ethically with renewable, natural, non-toxic materials.
Because I have young kids, I would have loved some sort of attached pocket or pouch for keeping the two balls that come with the game. Instead, the game has two indents where you can store them.
I was pleasantly surprised, though with how easy the handles are to turn and how the well-designed goal stops the ball from flying out and bouncing onto the floor.
Hand-eye coordination and strategy come into play as you try to score points. Younger kids will practice counting and adding as they use the counter to keep track of their goals. Older kids will begin to learn the rules and strategy behind soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, “football / fútbol”).
