We’re happy to post about the Special Benefit Performance of “Driving Miss Daisy” scheduled for Monday, February 7th at 8pm because it combines two of our favorite things: the arts and charity. All proceeds from the special performance will benefit the The Actors Fund, which provides social services, health care services, employment assistance and housing services to those working in entertainment and the performing arts. Work in the entertainment industry is unpredictable and erratic, and the Actors Fund provides a much-needed safety net for those working in the industry.
“Driving Miss Daisy” stars James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines, and it has received excellent critical reviews so far. This Special Performance is dedicated to Lynn and Corin Redgrave. It will be held at the Golden Theatre, 252 W 45th St, New York, NY. Regular seating costs between $66.50 – $126.50.
To purchase tickets, visit www.store.actorsfund.org, call 212.221.7300 ext. 133, or email tickets@actorsfund.org. Tickets can also be purchased at www.telecharge.com or through the Golden Theatre box office.
(Disclosure: A writer from Mamanista will be attending the performance as a guest of the show, which we’ll be reviewing here for our readers. We were not otherwise compensated to write this post, and all opinions are our own.)
