Forget flowers, chocolates and even jewelry…all I really want is a good night’s sleep. Can a pillow really be considered a romantic present?
As a busy mom, I have so little time to sleep, and I don’t want to spend it tossing and turning. I’m a pillow aficionado: not content to spend a third (well…more like a quarter) of my life with any less than the most comfortable head support I can find. I have tried everything from high-end down-filled pillows to numerous synthetic fiber and foam fills.
Even knowing what styles I like, I probably only continue to use one out of every three pillows I buy. My husband currently uses a combination of a D-core pillow for back sleeping and a dual microfiber/memory-foam pillow for extra support on his side. I have several heavy foam and memory-foam pillows I have gotten comfortable with. (I wasn’t kidding when I said I was serious about having the best pillow!)
Sleep Studio sent me a sample of their latest innovation: the Proactive Comfort Pillow. This pillow turned out to be a real winner. It is a supportive, contoured, ventilated memory foam pillow designed for back and side sleepers. Both my husband and I were immediately comfortable with it.
Unlike any pillow we have tried before, the ViscoFresh foam is impregnated with a scent they call “Green tea,” but which we think smells more like peppermint. Instead of waiting for that yucky “new foam smell” to dissipate, the Proactive Comfort Pillow actually provides an exceptionally soothing aromatherapy and can be enjoyed immediately after purchase.
My husband is extremely sensitive to smells and fragrances, but he really liked everything about this pillow, including the scent. I asked Sleep Studio specifically about the aroma, and unfortunately they said it would fade over time and there is no means to “recharge” it.
The Proactive Comfort Pillow is truly one of the best and most comfortable pillows I’ve ever tried. In fact, Sleep Studio sent me a sample pillow to review, and I plan on purchasing a second since both my husband and I want to use this pillow
The Proactive Comfort Pillow can be ordered directly from Sleep Studio for $69.99, and it’s worth every penny. (If $69.99 is out of your price range, Sleep Studio also sells a version of the pillow through Costco as the “ViscoFresh Advanced Contour Pillow” for $36.99.)
