Now that the swelling in my feet is gone and I’m up and moving, I’ve been trying out the Easy Tone sneakers Reebok sent me.
Although I enjoyed wearing Reeboks as a kid, correct footwear wasn’t something I paid much attention to in my early 20s. But after three pregnancies, I need to treat my body a little better if I want it to last me a lifetime of being active and enjoying my family.
The idea behind the Reebok Easy Tone sneakers is that the pods on the soles create a “micro-imbalance” that causes your muscles to work harder. The result is supposedly a more toned you.
I gave the sneakers a good trial these past two weeks on some local nature walks. Keep in mind that I have no medical, fitness, or physical therapy qualifications so this is just my experience.
After walking 1-2 miles on each outing, I found that my glutes were definitely sore later that night. This is an area where I usually do not “feel the burn” on a casual walk so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the benefit came from the Easy Tone shoes.
Although I have seen a few concerns online about weak ankles, which I have, and the micro-instability, I experienced no such problems while wearing the Easy Tone sneakers.
I felt quite comfortable and confident in the shoes. There was no soreness in my feet, only the muscle aches in my upper legs and glutes that come from a good workout.
In terms of the look, you get the more classic Reebok styling, which suits me well. With a large variety of color combinations, you are sure to find a pair that fits your taste.
Bottom line: there is no miracle in a bottle, pill, or shoe that will transform me back into my college-aged self. However, with a few lifestyle choices, I can feel comfortable in my mommy body. The Reebok Easy Tone sneakers are a smart way to maximize the walking I do every day.
