After my first baby girl, I lost most of the 30 pounds I had gained within a month. True, I would likely never fit into the size zero clothing from college ever again, and my body definitely changed, but I was very comfortable in my new mommy body.
Then, I had two sons who weighed in at 10 pounds, 4 ounces, and 9 pounds, 15 ounces. With each of these pregnancies, I gained over 50 pounds. Yes, my two big boys are worth every pound and every stretch mark. However, a year after my second pregnancy, I still weighed as much as I did in my ninth month of pregnancy with my first child. Even worse than the excess weight is the flab.
Anyone out there with me?
Exercise and eating right is the answer, of course, but I still need a little extra help getting back into shape and that is where the Mother Tucker Compression Tank comes in.
While waiting for the midwife’s “okay” to start exercising again, I’m wearing the Mother Tucker Nursing Compression Tank that Belly Bandit was kind enough to send me.
The Mother Tucker works by first pulling in and smoothing over the flab, giving me more confidence to get out and moving with my baby. The compression also encourages better posture, making me look and feel slimmer and reducing stress on my back.
There are three zones of compression for the belly, lower abdomen, and the back. Or, as Belly Bandit puts it, “to flatten your belly, tame muffin top and battle back bulge.”
Belly Bandit sent me a cute little tape measure and I am happy to say just putting on the Mother Tucker Tank takes three inches off my waistline. Maybe soon I’ll even be confident enough to post a picture.
One of the features that makes the Belly Bandit superior to the cheap compression tanks I have tried from big box retailers is the 3 inch, anti-roll bottom. This way I am not constantly yanking down the tank.
I would like the tank to be a little longer because I would have liked to have sized down for added compression and many of my shirts are now too short on me.
Most important to me, though, is that the cups on the top of the nursing tank, which are made of a smooth, lightweight, bra-like material, are easy to slide over when my newborn wants to breastfeed–which is pretty much all the time. Now, I can easily feed him without having to fumble or worry about visible belly roll.
There’s no magical elixir that will turn back time but with some good choices, positive thinking, and a little help from Mother Tucker, the mirror can be my friend again.
Besides, with a slogan like “Don’t nip it or suck it, simply Mother Tuck-it,” how can you resist?
