After having three kids in 5 years my body is far from what it used to be. I was always the fit, under 110 lb girl. Not anymore. Now I have all that excess baby weight that I have been trying like crazy to lose. Diets help minimally as they help me lose weight but not the flab. Most exercise videos don’t keep my attention after a week or two, and the gym…well you try to get me there…good luck.
I have fallen in love with Trudie Styler’s Weight Loss Yoga DVD from Gaiam. It includes four workouts to help you learn to use yoga to lose weight naturally. Together these workouts can help you adopt a more balanced lifestyle to achieve your weight loss goals while creating a healthier body. “Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss” helps you to cleanse and strengthen. “Total Body Yoga” adds extra challenge and builds strength. This one was very challenging for me. Keep it up; it does get easier! “Yoga Abs” improves core strength and posture. This was I was able to get through on the first try. It was pretty intense but doable. You will feel the benefits immediately after, I was sore for a day! “Chair Yoga is an easy-to-follow routine for people new to yoga or easing back into practice. This is the place to start. It is a great workout for beginners. I have been focusing on these last two workouts and will do more of the others as I build up strength and muscle.
There is an interview with Trudie Styler on the dvd as well. She is an actress, film producer, director, human rights activist, environmentalist and organic farmer. She is committed improving the lives of impoverished and exploited children all over the world. She and her family moved to Lake House in the English countryside and is trying their best to raise their children on as healthy as possible. This personal affection for health is shown in the DVD. She covers all aspects of healthy living including exercise and diet. Trudie is sharing with the world what has worked for her and her family. This is one of the main reasons I love this workout. Its not a fad diet, it is a tried, tested, and proven lifestyle change that will work if you make the suggested changes.
One of my favorite things about this is that there is additional information on their website, including a nutrition plan. There are weekly meal plans, recipies and much more. This is one section I have used often. I find myself picturing Trudie (in the video) saying that if there is one change to be made it is to cut out sugar. I repeat this to myself to help me make healthier food choices for myself and for my family.
I am already seeing improvement and can’t wait to see the final result. Most importantly, I feel amazing! I will keep you all posted!
