In Mexico, the old and new world meet. Rural traditions exist alongside modern expressions, European charm is intertwined with native roots, and bustling urban squares lead into the beautiful countryside. My friends from Mexico embody this vibrancy and beauty. So do the fall children’s clothes from Tea Collection, full of unexpected pops of colors, bold graphic motifs, and clever touches.
Tea Collection sent me a sampling of clothes from their new Mexico-inspired line and asked me to style outfits for my children. And they are offering three of my readers $100 Gift Cards to Tea Collection so they can do the same.

Marimba Mini Dress in turquoise with the Cinco Senses Stripe Hoodie in ink
There are so many opportunities for layering in the fall collection, perfect for the unpredictable September weather. The Cinco Senses Stripe Hoodie has a beautiful range of colors and can pick up on the tones in a number of the new dresses–providing an extra layer that adds to the outfit far more than a neutral choice.
The Marimba Mini Dress is the real star of this ensemble, though. And it is a testament to the fun, sweet style and vibrant floral design that my pink-obsessed daughter gravitates to this cerulean dress. The turquoise and green hues recall summer while the ruffly jumper cut is perfect for starting fall. The dress is also available in a pretty indigo with fuchsia accents.
Bird of Paradise dress with Skinny Stretch Leggings in Raddish
Dress this delightful patterned dress down for a trip to the farmers market or a play date or add some tights, sparkly shoes, and glittery barrettes for an early holiday party. Either way, this was my daughter’s top pick from the new collection. The energetic bird of paradise motif definitely reminds me of my vivacious girl and the radish red is a great fresh color for fall.
Día de Mercado Blouse with Denim Look Skinny Pants
Jeggings make perfect sense for little girls (and skinny women like my mom)–you get the look of jeans with the comfort of stretch pants. Tea Collection has come out with the perfect pair with a cute exposed zipper accent at the ankles. The Denim Look Skinny Pant is THE fashion must-have of the season for young girls. My daughter, who will not wear jeans because the waist band bothers her, absolutely loves these jeggings. And paired with the Oaxacan-inspired Dia de Mercado Blouse’s sophisticated little pattern and the embroidered square neckline, she looks like a big girl ready for any adventure.
Bazar del Sábado tunic with a Ribbed Purity tee in Plum Frost paired with the Denim Look Skinny Pants
As the weather turns colder, layering is key and I adore this sweater vest Bazar del Sabado tunic with its native knit pattern. It is hot here right now but paired with kicky ankle boots it will be perfect for back-to-school or harvest-time hay rides and apple picking. The Ribbed Purity tee is available in four, warm autumnal colors and is a useful, comfortable layering piece.

Mariachis En Barco tee with the Ernesto Stripe tee layered underneath. Daytripper Jeans on the bottom.
For my son, we chose two Dia de los Muertos-themed graphic tees and combined with layering pieces. The mustard-colored Mariachis En Barco features a playful trio of skeletal mariachi players. I think the Ernesto Stripe tee adds whimsy as well as warmth and goes perfectly with the casual Daytripper Jeans. A great leaf-pile-jumping outfit!
Zócalo Plaid Shirt with the Día de Los Muertos tee underneath paired with the Surplus Playwear Pants
For a slightly more dressed look, I paired the intricate skull on the Dia de Los Muertos tee with the blues and browns of the Zocalo plaid shirt–a sophisticated color combination. The Surplus Playwear Pants can be rolled up and buttoned in place for early fall casual wear, paired with sandals or slip-on boat shoes or loafers. As the weather cools and the child grows, we can roll down the pants for a more smooth look and pair with mini oxfords.
