The second I walked in to drop my son off at preschool, I knew something was wrong. All the little girls wore darling party dresses and the normally tousled little boys had on neatly tucked-in button down shirts.
On what I clearly had forgotten was picture day, my son, on the other hand, was wearing a too-large, kelly green shirt with a giant image of Kermit-the-Frog’s face. Since it was the last class day before March 17, I figured, you know, green…for St. Patrick’s Day.
So, for my son’s first year at school, he is now forever immortalized in the professional class photograph as “frog boy”.
It’s not easy being green.
My photographs are very important to me. Over the course of the year I take, no exaggeration, thousands of pictures of my children. I carefully curate them and distribute them to eager grandparents. And each year I look forward to the one professional photograph that marks the milestone of each school year, without me even having to cajole or coerce a smile out of my child. You would think I could at least manage to dress the kids up in something respectable and wash the breakfast off their faces.
This is not a one-time blooper, either.
The previous year, I sent my older daughter to school for picture day in a specially selected, adorable pink dress…worn backwards. The collar looks odd and, if you stare, you can make out the bump from the tag right below her sweet, smiling face.
All parents have do-over moments, mine are just recorded on film.
From Frigidaire: The Frigidaire Gallery™ Dishwasher gets dishes fully cleaned the first time, so there are no dish do-overs. Nearly half of adults admit to re-washing and/or re-drying dishes after the dishwasher cycle has been completed. To prevent dishwasher do-overs, Frigidaire® is stepping in with its new Gallery® Dishwasher featuring the OrbitCleanTM Wash Arm, ensuring dishes are cleaned right the first time.
