Last night, my son and I attended a special advanced screening of “Despicable Me 2” and let me say we were NOT disappointed!
The sequel to the 2010 worldwide blockbuster picked up where “Despicable Me” left off, with our unlikely hero Gru as a doting dad and “legitimate businessman.” Needless to say, it’s not long before he is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help bring down a super villain and hilarity ensues. I won’t go into the plot more than that as I really hope everyone goes to see the new movie and I wouldn’t want to give away any spoilers!
If you became a fan of Gru’s Minions, then this movie will give you more Minion action than you can probably handle (I literally laughed so hard I cried!)! So many of the jokes and antics are geared towards the adults yet kids find them funny as well-the hallmark of great writing.
“Despicable Me 2” opens nationwide on Wednesday, July 3 and is rated PG.
