This past Spring, many Americans found the freedom that came with getting their health insurance covered. During the Open Enrollment season that ended on March 31, Americans that were previous uninsured were able to find affordable health care to meet their health needs and the needs of their families.
A new Open Enrollment for healthcare coverage will open again in the Fall, but many Americans are unaware that Medicaid and CHIP are open year-round and special enrollment is ongoing. The Ad Council is working with Get Covered America to spread the word about these “qualifying life events.” Many Americans don’t realize that they may qualify for enrolling in health insurance because they’ve had a change in family status, marital status or job status. People may be able to get the coverage they need and at a reasonable cost. Half of the uninsured could find insurance for less than $100 a month!
Help spread the word and learn more about your options under the ACA. Join the Ad Council and Get Covered America for a #TakeCareHangout on Google+ today, Tuesday July 29, from 2pm-2:30pm EST. You can participate in the conversation and ask questions on Twitter using the #TakeCareHangout hashtag or by using the chat feature within the GoogleHangout.
