National holidays that honor our veterans and military will always be special to me because two men in my life that I love so dearly, my husband and my father, both proudly served our country in the military. My husband (who I met in college) was an Air Force ROTC and then served as Active Duty Air Force. He left as a Captain but we still have many friends in the service. My father served in the Army and was a Captain as well.
So for Veterans Day, my children are making special cards for their grandfather and are going to spend some time with him (which they love to do anyway).
