I run a small business and I try to make an effort to thank my employees for all of the hard work that they do. Things get hectic more often than not, and they always come through for me in the clutch. So when I was asked to try the new #TeavanaOprahChai Tea at Starbucks, I knew who I could treat and make them feel special.
My office is comprised of some serious caffeine addicts; we all drink coffee, tea, hot chocolate and every kind of coffee drink under the sun, so I thought this would be a nice change of pace. I chose a random afternoon and said to my team, “Ladies, drop what you’re doing, we’re going to Starbucks!” They were out the door before I was.
I am glad I picked an off-hour to go, as our local Starbucks is usually pretty crowded in the morning, at lunch and in the evening, so early afternoon was just right. We all decided to try the new Teavana Oprah Chai Tea in its various incarnations: one got the hot non-latte (is that a word?) version, the other got the hot chai tea latte and another got the iced latte, to really get a good sampling of the new brew. It was nice to sit back, relax and just enjoy our tea and each other’s company, which I think is what tea time has always been about.
