There are so many things I love about living the Philadelphia region: the history, the sites, the culture. I live close enough to the city to visit as often as I’d like and just far enough outside the city to miss out on the chaos. It’s amazing how just outside Philadelphia are up-and-coming towns as well as bucolic rolling fields and farms. The Philly suburbs offers the perfect mix of bustling and quaint. And many are surprised to find out how many fantastic attractions there are to visit!
One of my favorite attractions in the Philadelphia suburbs is Longwood Gardens. Nestled in the small town of Kennett Square, Longwood Gardens is over 1000 acres of sprawling flora and fauna. One can meander the pathways, marvel at the fountains, view amazing plant species and arrangements, and learn new things about horticulture. I love that it is a place I can enjoy with my family. There are so many things to do at Longwood Gardens for kids, including both the indoor and outdoor children’s gardens. My boys love the fountain shows set to music that happen several times per day in season. As a Longwood Star Blogger, I try to get there as often as I can to take in the sights and learn something new.
Longwood Gardens recently expanded their Meadow Garden into a transforming work of natural art! More than doubling in size, the Meadow Garden now spans 86 acres. Guests can walk over the 3 miles of walking and hiking trails, taking in sights of native wildflower plantings as well as stop and get an education at any of the four learning pavilions!
