I was asked to review the Care Bears Belly Match app, but because I was in such a holiday rush, it took me a while to get to. I decided to ask my 7 year old son to helop me write this review. He and his 4 year old brother are fans of the app.
We really liked playing with Grumpy, but have to admit, we loved beating Beastly even more. He challenged us with different Belly Badges. It was really fun to keep switching it up. We even earned a few “Perfect” scores on this level.
We also got to a really fun level called “Bear Blitz” where we had to earn stars before the time ran out. For me, it was a hit or miss. A few times, I earned a star. A few times, I wasn’t even able to get a single star. And one time, I got two stars, but really can’t explain how I did so well that time. My son and I are still trying to get the hang of it, but I’ll admit that the app has totally got us hooked. (Which I guess is the point right?)
My only issues about this app, is the complaint I have for all free apps, Free apps ask you to buy “diamonds” to unlock things,, earn badges or stickers or levels, etc. The Care Bears Belly Match app states that the “Most Popular” purchase is $4.99, and of course, the “Best Value” purchase is $49.99. Does anyone actually choose this? Let’s be real, choose a couple of these and you could actually buy REAL diamonds!
But unlike many similar apps, we are able to keep playing for free and felt pretty satisfied without getting overly bothered by ads or diamond asks. Out of 5 stars, we give this app 4.5. (We would have given it five stars if ad free.) Thanks for the fun Care Bears; we’ll definitely keep playing this one.
