Babyrazzi posted photos of Trista Rehn Sutter’s baby shower. I think it was cool that her guests worked on scrapbook pages for the baby rather than playing traditional baby shower games like melting chocolate bars in diapers.
Mama-to-Be enjoys scrapbooking, but selecting matting, cutting out photos and borders, designing layouts and embellishing pages with buttons, ribbons, brads is time-consuming. Since it can take me hours to finish a single 12″ x 12″ page, only special occasions make it into my scrapbooking album.
Since I want to preserve my everyday memories in a special way too, I got into digital scrapbooking. Using pre-designed layouts and clip art, I can whip up a beautiful page in minutes.

The digital kit included papers, bows, buttons, journaling blocks, gingham ribbons, painted metal flower brads, embroidered roses, frames, a madeline doll sticker and alphabet and number sets in blue and pink.

Buying the same elements in a scrapbook store would cost me at least $25, and that’s assuming I found them on sale. But I can use this digital kit as many times as I want to create a variety of pages. I generally print my pages on a color printer and store them in an album, but I also save a copy of them on a CD for safe-keeping in case the album ever gets damaged. Plus, it’s easy to email the finished pages to my friends and family. 
If you’re new to digital scrapbooking, you might prefer a pre-designed layout. A Cherry on Top Scrapbook Shoppe calls these “Quick Pages.” I bought the “Angel Kisses 20 Page Album” (pictured on the right). This kit was actually designed in memory of Arrayah, the baby of one of the company’s employees.
Arrayah passed away soon after her birth, and her parents wanted a special way to honor her memory. All proceeds from this kit will go to the Arrayah Memorial Fund to help offset the family’s medical costs. It makes a beautiful baby book for a little girl, and I like the idea of my purchase helping a family in need.
