I’m not ashamed to admit that I love the Smurfs. Watching old Smurf cartoons on DVD brings back happy childhood memories and never faismurftruebluefriendsls to put me in a good mood. I’ll confess that I’ve sung the Smurf Theme Song to my infant son on more than one occasion, and I’m looking forward to sharing the Smurfs with him when he’s older. 

The Smurfs – Season One, Vol. One was released last year, and The Smurfs: Season One, Vol. Two was just released in October. (Click here to read my full review.)  The newest release in the series is The Smurfs, Vol. 1: True Blue Friends. A mix of classic episodes (like “Turncoat Smurf”) you might remember from childhood as well as rarer episodes featuring Johan and Peewee (like “The Haunted Castle”), The Smurfs, Vol. 1: True Blue Friends will please any Smurf fan.

The Bonus “Meet the Smurfs” feature provides lots of fun details on Papa Smurf, Grouchy Smurf and Tracker Smurf (the star of the “S-Shivering S-Smurfs” episode on this disc).
