Donate School Supplies When I was a kid, I used to get excited about buying new pencils and folders and notebooks for back-to-school. I know that makes me a nerd, but it also reminds me that many children don’t have the money for essential school supplies. There are lots of groups that organize donations. You can click this link for some ideas, but please ask around in your area too. While the need is greatest in the inner cities, don’t forget that there are probably kids in your own local area that need help too. I live in a fairly affluent school district, but there are still many families in need right near me. By working with the school district, I am able to provide school supplies and Old Navy gift cards so those kids can start the year with a nice new outfit and a backpack of supplies.
