We have a theater just two villages over, right next to our library. Although I was a theater major in college (and I have the headshots to prove it) and I love plays, we’ve somehow never gone to see a show there…until today!
Inspired by the Tropicana Juicy Rewards, I printed out a coupon for one free admission and headed over to watch one of the children’s plays, Peter Rabbit.
We almost did not get in! This coupon is only valid at the box office the day of the show–and this was a packed house! This was the only drawback to using the coupon, especially for a children’s show on a rainy day. If we hadn’t squeezed in, I’m sure there would have been tears. Fortunately, though, they found room for us and we had a fabulous time! My daughter sat one row in front of me and the baby sat on my lap and we settled in to enjoy the show.
And what an adorable show! Even the baby enjoyed the music and the energetic acting. My daughter was fascinated by the entire experience. Wide-eyed, she watched in silence, only peppering me with questions after the curtain fell: were those actors? can kids be actors? were those their real names? do they usually wear those clothes? And she’s already started her very own play, with characters drawn from her friends.
I am so happy that we took a chance on a new experience for the family. What fun things in your neighborhood have you been waiting for an excuse to try?
