At two years old, part of my son’s daily routine is to read to him. You can imagine how thrilled he was to get a new book that included a stuffed animal.
When I first handed over the stuffed animal I was a little bit apprehensive as to what his reaction would be. Fuddle resembles nothing in particular and yet has a cuteness about him that I can’t quite define. My son absolutely loves this stuffed animal. I have often caught him counting his toes and making him dance.
Fuddle, the Monster Who Couldn’t Decide has now become a nighttime favorite. The book is printed with large letters that makes it easy for my son to follow along and he loves to pick out different objects from this whimsical art. Like most two years olds, my son will only sit still for a limited amount of time so the story is a tad long. We never finish the book in one reading and break it up into a morning reading and a nighttime reading.
I found the concept of the book to be slightly above his head. However I was still able to have him participate with the story by helping Fuddle make decisions about which hat to buy and which muffin to eat. I think that this will be a great book for him to grow into.
There’s nothing confusing about how much we love Fuddle!
