Munching on delicious, fresh-from-the-oven cookies is one of my favorite remedies for the winter blues. While I love making traditional chocolate chip cookies, there’s something exciting about trying a new recipe.
101 Easy Peasy Cookie Recipes by Lucinda and Heather Wallace is chock full of easy-to-make, original cookie recipes like Chocolatey Raspberry Streusal Bars, Cherry Chocolate Drops, Frosted Banana Oatmeal Cookies, Root Beer Frosties, Marvelous Maple Drops, White Chocolate Chunk Cranberry Cookies, Peanut Butter Mud Puddles and Frosty Pink Lemonade Cookies. Hungry yet?
Lucinda and Heather are a mother-daughter recipe development and writing team. Their shared love of cooking is reflected in easy-to-follow recipes that are appropriate for even a novice baker. The book is broken down into five categories: Bar Cookies, Drop Cookies, No-Bake Cookies, Rolled Cookies and Shaped Cookies.
I adored the Marvelous Maple Drops and the Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies from the chapter on Drop Cookies. While I generally prefer traditional drop cookies, I also found the Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars (one of the no-bake recipes) surprisingly good.
