I recently received several of Dr Browns feeding items. I’ve been using them with my son and am so very impressed with the quality and ease of all of the products.
My son was 100% breastfed up until 6 months when we starting introducing solids. He absolutely refused every bottle that I tried. Of course I wanted him to be able to eat if I had to run out so I continued in my quest to find something that he will use. Finally a friend of mine recommended Dr Browns Soft-Spout Training Cup. She said this cup was the only thing her son would use. After picking up the cup I tested it out on my son. Success!!!! He finally would drink! He loves his cup and can always be seen using it. It I also very easy to clean, top rack dishwasher safe, BPA free, and best yet doesn’t leak.
Now that my son eats solids I like to make my own baby food. I tested out the Puree & Simple™ Blender to mash up some avocado. I found it very convenient and easy to use. My only recommendation would be to be sure you use a narrow cup to blend as the blade is a bit high. The food came out perfectly and my son loved it. I fed it to him using the Dr Browns feeding bowls, which are extra deep to prevent spills and have a non-skid base, and a Dr Browns long spatula spoon. The spoon is ingenious and makes feeding so much easier. It has a comfortable long handle that reaches the bottom of taller jars and my personal favorite is the spatula edge which helps wipe food from baby’s mouth.
I stored the extra mashed avocado in the Food Storage Pods & Stackable Freezer Tray, which is perfect for storing single servings.
For a quick meal I used the Make-A-Smash™ Food Masher. It is very easy to use and I had some fruit mashed up in a matter of seconds. It is perfect for on-the-go feedings. I now keep mine in the diaper bag so that when we are out I can mash fruits and veggies easily. Makes going out to eat with the baby much easier!
