When it comes to children’s television programs, there is no shortage of shows to choose from, but when I heard my four-year-old son’s squealing laughter emanating from our family room, I had to check out the source of perceived hilariousness (did I hear snorting?)
Peppa Pig is a lovable, cheeky little pig from the UK and the charming program follows her daily activities with her brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig as they play games, go to school, take family trips and, best of all, jump in muddy puddles! Parents and kids will enjoy watching the show together; Peppa’s lighthearted, laugh-out-loud approach to storytelling is truly enjoyable for both children and parents. Best of all, the show celebrates the values of family, friendship, fun – and humor! As a parent, I can also appreciate the show’s infusion of British language and culture, preparing our children for a more global mindset.
Last year, the award-winning animated series for preschoolers, leapt across the pond to delight U.S. audiences on Nick Jr. Good thing they did, as my son has elevated Peppa to “must see” status.
Peppa Pig airs 7 days a week on Nick Jr.:
-Monday-Friday at 12:00pm and 12:30pm
– Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm and 2:30pm
