I was challenged to switch to Arm & Hammer Baking Soda and to test new ways of using this versatile product in my home. In a previous post, I discussed how intrigued I was by the possible uses of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in the nursery. I already used the product in my fridge to deodorize, but I also started using it to freshen our diaper pail.
One of the other suggestions was to use Arm & Hammer to clean stuffed animals. Since Baking Soda is edible, it is safe to use around babies and children. To freshen our stuffed animals, I sprinkled Arm & Hammer baking soda on the toys. I let the baking soda sit for 15 minutes, and then I gently vacuumed the plush animals with the brush attachment on my vacuum cleaner. The stuffed animals smelled nice and clean, and the baking soda left no residue on the plush.
I also used a solution of baking soda and water to freshen our numerous bath toys. Since baking soda is non-toxic and edible, it was the perfect solution for cleaning toys that babies chew/mouth.
I was pleased with the results of our first experiment with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in the nursery. Next, I plan to test Arm & Hammer Baking Soda as a beauty product. I’ll be sharing the results of these experiments all summer long.
