Baby Moosic Even Adults Don’t Mind

When I was growing up, Hippos Go Berserk by Sandra Boynton was one of my favorite books. That book taught me how to count, and I loved reading it over and over again. So it’s not surprising that I have a fondness for the lively, silly cartoons and cheerful, pudgy hippos in Sandra Boynton books.

I received a review copy of Blue Moo: 17 Jukebox Hits From Way Back Never by Sandra Boynton. Blue Moo comes with a CD of 17 witty songs with a nostalgic 50s and 60s vibe.  My favorites are “Speed Turtle” sung by Beach Boy Brian Wilson and “Your Personal Penguin” sung by Davy Jones of The Monkees. Baby Mwah enjoys dancing to these songs and all the silly faces I make while singing along. Just be warned: these songs will stick in your head.

I also enjoyed the enteraining, illustrated songbook that comes with Blue Moo. It helped me learn the lyrics to all the songs– including the surprisingly catchy “Uninvited Loud Precision Band.” I can’t walk into my living room now without thinking: “Parade! We’re on Parade! We are marching! Marching through your living room!”
