Tigger has always been my favorite denizen of 100 Acre Woods. My best friend in college and I used to bounce up and down the streets singing his song. So, it is no surprise that I enjoyed The Tigger Movie–although my daughter’s DVD time is usually “mommy’s work time,” I could not resist watching with her–but how did it look from a three year-old’s perspective?
Bedtime With Elmo
My son loves everything Elmo, and it shows. He’s learning his colors. Blue is “bwoo.” Yellow is “yellwoo.” But red is “Elmo.” So I suppose it’s not a surprise that the two of us loved the newest Elmo DVD- Sesame Street: Bedtime With Elmo.

And Now, For My First Act
Like many kids, I wanted to be a guitar hero, jamming with friends and soaking up the spotlight. Although I already enjoyed the piano and the flute, but I struggled to get my small fingers to stretch to reach the guitar chords. And all due respect to Jethro Tull, it is hard to rock out with the flute.
Learning a musical instrument is far easier during childhood and First Act Discovery makes a series of high quality steel-string acoustic guitars sized just right (30″) for little hands. And at $30 these guitars are sized just right for your budget…
Rediscovering “The Greatest Show on Earth”
As a child, going to the circus was an annual tradition. I loved watching the elephants, tigers, clowns, acrobats and the trapeze artists. The circus is a fantasy-world that inspires the imagination. For days afterwards, I would pretend to be an animal trainer or dress up like a clown.
As the years went by, I felt that I had outgrown the circus. I went when I was a college student, and the circus just seemed so small…so predictable…even boring. But my son’s birth had a transformative effect on me. I’m ready to relive my childhood excitement and to see the world through his innocent eyes.

Smurfy Good Giveaway!
I’m not ashamed to admit that I love the Smurfs. Watching old Smurf cartoons on DVD brings back happy childhood memories and never fails to put me in a good mood. I’ll confess that I’ve sung the Smurf Theme Song to my infant son on more than one occasion, and I’m looking forward to sharing the Smurfs with him when he’s older.
