If you could live anywhere, and build your own custom home from scratch, what would your dream house be like? Me? I would probably want a renovated Victorian with easy access to the rails and a short distance from New York City. We’d have a wraparound porch looking out our wooded property, dark hardwood floors, […]
New Britax ClickTight on Frontier and Pinnacle Makes Installation a Snap
My husband is the car seat installer around here. I gave him the new Britax Frontier 90 with ClickTight technology without comment to see what he said. After poking around the manual for a few minutes, he installed the seat in about 10 minutes and excitedly called me over to share what he had discovered. […]
Strider No-Pedal Balance Bike Review
Learning to ride a bike is a childhood rite of passage. Strider Bikes aims to make the process easier, faster, and more fun for kids everywhere. The Strider is what is referred to as a no-pedal balance bike or run bike. In a nutshell, the concept is that learning to balance is easier when a […]
That Time We Turned an Ordinary Day into an Epic Adventure
I tend to plan trips to the minute–a tendency that has only gotten worse since having kids. Sometimes, though, you just have to let go and enjoy the ride! Last summer, we had planned a relaxing weekend at my in-laws vacation house on Long Island’s North Fork, just one hour from our home. Between work […]
Shark Sonic Duo Scrubs Hard Floors and Carpets for Reluctant Cleaners
“The house is clean, mom, who’s coming over?” Anyone who knows me understands I am not much of a housekeeper. Sure, I could blame it on the three kids and two cats but to be honest, cleaning was never one of my talents. In fact, my husband picks up a lot of the slack in […]
An American Girl: Saige Paints the Sky (The Movie)
We reviewed the Saige American Girl of the Year doll when she first came out and my daughter brings Saige on trips and to special days at school. Now, American Girl has a new feature-length movie coming from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Will you see the movie with your kids? “An American Girl: Saige Paints […]
Take the Disney Try It Challenge
Have you taken the Food List Challenge on Facebook? I’ve tried 83 of the 100 foods on the list. Given the opportunity, I would likely try all 100. Why? My parents always encouraged me to try new things. As a child and teen, I accompanied them on trips around the world– learning about history, art, language, culture and trying new foods. These family trips inspired a lifelong love of learning and voracious reading habits. But they also made me a more adventurous person, which was definitely a factor in starting my own small business in 2010.
Are You Running on Empty? #QuakerEpicAdventures
Do you ever feel like you are running on empty? I have been so exhausted lately (pregnancy will do that to you)! I got my kids all dressed for a weekend hike and then promptly fell asleep on the bed when my husband took them downstairs to get their shoes on. He took pity on […]
Support the Shore #JerseyLove
Will you help me share #JerseyLove? Tourism is big business for New Jersey. Without a strong summer season, many businesses won’t make it through the year. Everyone remembers seeing the destruction Hurricane Sandy caused to so many shore towns in NJ and NY, but there is not as much media coverage of the recover. This has residents […]
Soaring on Wings of Imagination
My kids love to dress-up with wings. My daughter likes to pretend to be a butterfly or fairy. Unfortunately, most fairy wings are made of a nylon stocking material on a wire frame and tend to tear. They are also bulky to store. My son likes to be a dragon but the best (at a […]
