I wrote before about how much my boys love Peppa Pig on NIck Jr. Peppa Pig is a lovable, cheeky little pig from the UK, and the charming cartoon follows her family life and daily activities. Peppa arrived in the US last year, quickly becoming a hit with US audiences. And now her toys have arrived at Toys R Us!
Almost Naked Animals Volume I DVD Review
I had never heard about Cartoon Network’s quirky, animated series, Almost Naked Animals, until I received an inquiry asking if I’d like to review the first season, which will be available on DVD starting September 25, 2012. Almost Naked Animals features an ensemble cast of underwear-clad animals, based on the quirky designs of Noah Z. Jones. The pack is led by Howie, the good-spirited but hospitality-challenged doggy manager of Banana Cabana, a beach-front hotel. Since I’m a fan of many quirky cartoons (Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Archer and more), it looked like something that would appeal to my odd sense of humor.
Swim with Friends and Help Aflac Fight Pediatric Cancer
I have been an administrator for a non profit organization called The Believe Box which sends gifts to children with cancer, for the past few months. This has given me the opportunity to see how widespread pediatric cancer is. I have heard of many children recently diagnosed in my area, and hundreds more through facebook […]
Whiten Your Teeth for Less With Arm & Hammer
When I see the celebs on TV, I’m sometimes blinded by their shiny, white teeth. Since I love coffee, red wine and many foods that stain teeth, I’m a bit jealous of their smiles. Cosmetic dentistry is very expensive, and whitening strips make my teeth feel sensitive. What’s a mom to do? I’ve tried whitening […]

Did you know that 3 in 5 U.S. public school teachers say students regularly come to school hungry? This week Share Our Strength released its’ 2012 survey of America’s teachers reporting on their experiences with hunger in the classroom and the findings show that hunger is a huge problem in this country. Switch and Save With Arm & Hammer Toothpaste
Finding the time to take good care of myself is hard to manage. As many moms know, personal care and beauty tend to fall to the bottom of the ever-growing “to-do” list. I make time to brush and floss twice daily, so I avoid cavities. But maintaining pearly white teeth feels like much more of […]
Protecting Family Memories
Preserving my family’s memories is important to me, and I’ve spent many happy hours scrapbooking. Unfortunately, some of the most precious documents are not on acid-free paper. I recently received a Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator to review, and I’m using it to preserve my children’s artwork, memorable school assignments and newspaper clippings. Newspaper clippings are […]
Baby Doll Love
When I was little, I had my one special baby doll. Her name was Laura and I treated her as though she was my actual baby. I fed her at my mealtimes, put her down for naps when I had my own, and made sure she got her fair share of sunshine. She may not […]
Project Runway S10, E4: On the Move, In the Groove
Our designers gather at the Michael Kors store and learn they are designing for the jetsetting, modern woman who needs to get off a plane, take a meeting, and hit a cocktail party. Or, as my mom likes to say to my kids as they head out to school, lessons, play dates, or activities, […]
Fighting Stains With Arm & Hammer
As a mom to two little boys, I deal with a lot of messes. Boys are stain magnets. Between the grass stains and mud stains from a day on the playground or a muddy soccer game and the ketchup stains from summer barbecue parties, it is tough keeping their clothing looking like new. Using hand-me […]
