As a blogger, I get a chance to see all of the hottest holiday toys at events such as Toy Fair, Time to Play and more. Here are a few of my favorite toys….
Holiday Clothing Care
Before I had children, I would hand-wash lingerie and other delicate clothing in the sink and then hang it to dry. With a preschooler and a baby in the house, it’s harder to find the time.
The Whirlpool Duet Washer has a hand-wash cycle, which I used for delicate sweaters, blouses, lingerie and silk hosiery. Using the hand-wash cycle saved time and effort, and my items came out looking as good as new.
Eco Friendly Lunches
Packing a lunch is one of the easiest ways to save money and be eco-friendly. You can choose healthful foods to bring with you and can assure that you’re always excited for lunch. Whether you want to start a new diet, look for ways to save money or simply are ready to make a change, packing a lunch for the day is a smart decision. It doesn’t have to limit you when it comes to being social during lunch hour, you could even inspire others to bring their lunches as well!
A Sixth Sense for Doing Laundry
Did you know that about 90% of the energy in a typical laundry cycle is spent heating the water? While hot water may be necessary for certain stains or for running a sanitizing/allergen cycle, using hot water to do laundry is a waste of energy. Plus, washing clothing in cold water allows fabrics to retain their color and strength longer.
4 Healthier Halloween Treat Alternatives
Come next weekend, all anybody will be thinking about is candy. Kids will be dreaming of it and planning for it, adults will be combing nearby drug and food stores for bags of it and everybody will be thinking about the nutritional side effects-whether it be the future of your children’s teeth or your own waistline.
A Kid-Friendly Bookshelf: Guidecraft Universal Book Display
Our friends like to joke that there are books in every room of our house–and they aren’t far off.
We have struggled with not only finding enough room for our books but for also keeping them organized. And then comes the weekly frantic search for the library books that are due. Especially difficult to wrangle are the children’s books. We try to find a balance between keeping them accessible and in-sight but also neatly arranged.
The Guidecraft Universal Book Display does just that.
Washing My Cares Away With Whirlpool
As a newlywed, I didn’t care much about my washer and dryer. Oh…how things have changed. In my pre-kid days, I wore lots of dry-clean only clothing to work. I did two or three loads of wash a week: sheets, towels/whites, and our clothing. Now as the mom to two kids, I do at least one load a day because, as every mom knows, babies make a lot of laundry.
Rockin’ Kids: Nordic Rocker from Guidecraft
Children need special nooks to call their own–an appropriately-sized, comfortable spot for playing and learning. Emerging readers especially appreciate a child-proportioned reading chair.
The Nordic Rocker is a great reading chair for the classroom or the home.
HappyBaby equals Happy Family
A Happy Baby makes for a Happy Family. And a full tummy of delicious food makes a Happy Baby. And this mom is even happier when she know the food is nutritious and healthy.
HAPPYBABY sent me coupons for their products. With them I purchased HAPPYMUNCHIES baked organic cheese & veggie snack, HAPPYBABY POUCH: MANGO organic baby food, and STRAWBERRY HAPPYMELTS: organic freeze-dried yogurt…
Kids’ Cooking Academy: Kiwi Popsicles
One of my goals is to involve my kids in the kitchen more in 2011.
Not only does cooking with kids encourage them to try healthier food, it also helps them better understand our food chain, learn science, and practice mathematical measuring skills.
Frigidaire has teamed up with Jennifer Garner and Chef Mary Sue Milliken to get families preparing and enjoying nutritious foods together. And Frigidaire will donate $1 to Save the Children for each time you visit the Kids’ Cooking Academy between 1/18/11 and 4/25/11…
