Imagine, for a minute, a child waking up on Christmas day and wondering if there will be any breakfast… already knowing there are no toys to unwrap.
That is a reality for too many in our communities this season.
Here’s a way that we were able to share joy with some other children this Christmas.
“Mommy, if Santa Claus brings presents to all the good boys and girls, why do we donate toys to the kids in the shelters?”
Whew. That’s a tough one.
We donate toys for these children because sometimes people do not let Santa know how little they have. We bring the toys because some children use their letters to Santa to ask for warm clothing and food. We give these gifts because even Santa does not work alone and he needs friends in every neighborhood to help him bring a little joy to every girl and boy…
Little girls adore the Disney Princesses, and I was no exception. I have so many fond memories of watching Disney movies with my mom. In fact, when I found out I was having a boy, I actually remembering thinking that it was a shame I wouldn’t be able to share my love of Disney with him. Now I’m a mom to two boys, and I’ve discovered that Disney has just as much to offer boys as girls.
My son adores Lightning McQueen and the CARS characters as well as Woody and Buzz from Toy Story. He loves adventure, and his favorite TV show is Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
Jake and the Never Land Pirates is the #1 cable series for Boys 2-5 and on track to be the Disney Channel’s #1 preschool series ever.
In celebration of the release of Cars 2, the fantastic sequel to Disney & Pixar’s original animated motion picture Cars, we’re hosting a Cars 2 prize pack give away sponsored by Disney! I was lucky enough to attend an advanced screening for media this past Saturday, and my three year old son adored it so much that he asked to see it again on opening night. Folks, we took a trip to the magical land of Pixie Hollow.
I was honored with the chance to preview Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue, the third film in the Tinker Bell series set to hit stores September 21, 2010.
There we were, a group of grown women sitting in the Frank G. Wells theatre of the Disney studios in Hollywood, CA, relishing in the history of the building and imagining the Disney royalty that sat in the same room. See, this part of the studio lot is completely closed off to the public…let the magic begin!
