Time to celebrate shopping local! As mentioned in more than one of my previous posts, the Amercian Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) is near and dear to my heart and I love supporting their annual event called Neighborhood Toy Store Day which occurs this year on Saturday, November 9, 2013. I received several quality toys […]
Why I Heart My Neighborhood Toy Store
Small toy retailers hold a special place in my heart because I know that local toy stores support local communities with quality products for kids. My sons still enjoy the train table in our store nearby and now we shop for quality games to meet the growing intelligence of my boys. Our local store owner […]
Take the Disney Try It Challenge
Have you taken the Food List Challenge on Facebook? I’ve tried 83 of the 100 foods on the list. Given the opportunity, I would likely try all 100. Why? My parents always encouraged me to try new things. As a child and teen, I accompanied them on trips around the world– learning about history, art, language, culture and trying new foods. These family trips inspired a lifelong love of learning and voracious reading habits. But they also made me a more adventurous person, which was definitely a factor in starting my own small business in 2010.
A Longwood Christmas and Kennett Square
I was recently invited to get a behind-the-scenes view of A Longwood Christmas at Longwood Gardens with other area bloggers. The event, put together by Longwood Gardens with the help of Steph from Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Mom, was to introduce bloggers to all that Longwood Gardens and Kennett Square has to offer. It’s Never Too Early to Start Fighting Arthritis Pain
I’m only in my mid-30s, but I have the beginning signs of arthritis in my foot and ankle. Nearly every woman in my family develops arthritis eventually, so I used to think joint pain and stiffness was inevitable as I aged. I recently discovered that arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability. One in […]
Have You Discovered “The WooHoo Factor”?
As a mom, I know that many of the toys advertised on TV look amazing but then sit unused in the toy box. When I enter my local toy store, I see items that I know my kids will love and use. With a special eye for relevance and all out fun, small toy store owners handpick […]
