I had never heard about Cartoon Network’s quirky, animated series, Almost Naked Animals, until I received an inquiry asking if I’d like to review the first season, which will be available on DVD starting September 25, 2012. Almost Naked Animals features an ensemble cast of underwear-clad animals, based on the quirky designs of Noah Z. Jones. The pack is led by Howie, the good-spirited but hospitality-challenged doggy manager of Banana Cabana, a beach-front hotel. Since I’m a fan of many quirky cartoons (Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Archer and more), it looked like something that would appeal to my odd sense of humor.

Protecting Family Memories
Preserving my family’s memories is important to me, and I’ve spent many happy hours scrapbooking. Unfortunately, some of the most precious documents are not on acid-free paper. I recently received a Fellowes Saturn2 95 Laminator to review, and I’m using it to preserve my children’s artwork, memorable school assignments and newspaper clippings. Newspaper clippings are […]
Baby Doll Love
When I was little, I had my one special baby doll. Her name was Laura and I treated her as though she was my actual baby. I fed her at my mealtimes, put her down for naps when I had my own, and made sure she got her fair share of sunshine. She may not […]

Get Wild! July is National Park and Recreation Month
Did you know that July is National Park and Recreation Month?
Having clean, well-equipped parks near our house has encouraged us all to be more active and to spend more time outdoors. My boys love visiting the park, and the playground with its twisty slides, bridges and swings is a favorite. I volunteered as a Parks & Recreation board member for a few years while I was serving on our local school board. In fact, my son now attends the soccer program that we discussed opening while I was on the park board.

Build your own LEGO sculptures at our construction zone, and enjoy Wildlife Theater performances and the hit musical puppet show, Avenue Zoo.”
Take a Look, It’s On Your iPad…Reading Rainbow!
I loved the way classic Reading Rainbow episodes featured books with few bells & whistles, and I credit the show with inspiring a lifelong love of reading. Since I’m a fan, I was delighted to learn that Reading Rainbow has returned in the form of an educational iPad app.
